Low Level Laser Therapy
Photobiomodulation Therapy (PBMT) is the best technical term for Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT).
It is a light therapy using lasers to improve tissue repair, reduce pain and inflammation wherever the beams are applied. Treatments take about 10 minutes and should be applied two or more times a week.
Photobiomodulation has been used for many years on sports injuries, arthritic joints, neuropathic pain syndromes, back and neck pain.
Over 300 randomised clinical trials have been published on Photobiomodulation, half of which are on pain.
LLLT usage is wide raging and includes British and US military, Premier Division soccer teams, Olympic teams, Formula 1, rugby and cricket team therapists as well as specialist pain clinics in the UK and USA.
LLLT can be used safely around joints / bony protuberances making it a more efficient tool to treat Knees, Elbows, and Wrists & Ankles.
Treatments start with an assessment and are a minimum of 6 sessions spread over a 14 day period.
Depending on the injury/problem other therapies can be included i.e. Dynamic Taping, Trigger Pointing etc
LLLT can be used for speed wound healing on surgical scars, ulcers and difficult wound sites.
A course of treatment is £210 for 6 sessions
